CASE STUDY #5:
Warner racing
Category: Racing
Deliverables: Logo, Jersey & Car Wrap
My Role: Senior Designer & Production Handoff
Objective: Develop a cohesive identity for Warner Racing by creating a logo rooted in their Irish heritage and can be carried across both apparel and vehicle wraps.
Timeline: 2-days for initial logo and jersey concepts.

Design Process
To highlight the team’s Irish heritage, I centered the palette on green and chose a typeface that balanced cultural character with a racing aesthetic. After exploring several icons, I selected a lightning bolt to capture speed and power as the defining mark. The team requested that their car number (03) be prominent within the logo.

I ultimately incorporated the diamond plating into the numbers so to provide texture,
allowing the numbers to stand out from the flat black of the team name and background bolt.
The sharp edges of the lightning bolt became the foundation of a repeating pattern that carried through the jersey and vehicle wrap, strengthening brand cohesion from logo to product. I built the pattern in Illustrator for seamless scaling across both applications, with the jersey being rendered in 3D via Blender.
