CASE STUDY #2:
Ironman world championship
Category: Triathlon, Cycling, Run, Apparel
Deliverables: Apparel Graphics, Social Posts, 3D Renderings, Custom Illustrations, Bespoke Seamless Patterns
My Role: Director or Product, Senior Designer, Illustrator & Production Handoff
Objective: Translate limited stakeholder insights into a cohesive, premium IRONMAN headwear collection designed to maximize sell-through and elevate the brand’s retail presence at one of their largest events of the year: World Championship (Nice, France).
Timeline: 2-weeks for initial collection

Design Process
The challenge with a project of this scale is ensuring a large number of SKUs form a cohesive collection, with brand colors carefully curated and design elements (patterns, textures, illustrations) purposefully placed. Leveraging prior year sales data helps address weak points, strengthen sell-through, and ultimately build deeper customer loyalty.

In these larger Ironman collections, I begin by assigning a base color to each SKU to visualize balance and flow. From there, I research illustration needs (and proceed with the illustrations), explore brand placement ideas, evaluate specialty applications, and refine each design with the collection so to create a unified collection for Ironman stakeholders.
FINAL DESIGNS

IMPACT
Leveraging sales data from the previous year’s event directly boosted sell-through, while new design applications, illustration styles, and technical fabrics performed so strongly they are slated for inclusion across all Ironman retail collections in 2026. The BOCO Gear–Ironman partnership continues to elevate both the performance and style of endurance athletes worldwide.
